Mom & her good friend Karen saying good bye before Mom moved to Loveland, CO to be close to her oldest son Scott.
Karen & Mom at Paul's Memorial.  Karen is a true angel, always an advocate for Veterans and helping the families get what is due them for their years of loyalty to the armed services. So many of our soldiers in the past and current service men and women come back from war with severe Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome. This is a very debilitating condition that continues to plague our soldiers at all ages. Karen was instrumental in helping so many of the men and their families attain disability after years of suffering post the Vietnam War. She is a true angel. You rock Karen !!!! Mom & Paul admired you immensely and told me often what a loyal friend you were to them and all the veterans.

These hats are just a sample of Mom's zany hat collection. She developed Discoid Lupus last year and had to wear hats to protect her from the sun.
Bear giving Mom some loving and Jamima in her lap. Mom and Paul's 2 young dogs adored them so the loss of first Paul then Mom so close together could have left Bear and Jamima devestated but thanks to my brother Scott and his wife Anita of Loveland, CO. both dogs are now sharing their laps and beds with their new adoptive mom and dad, Scott and Anita !!!!
This is the first time Mom went to the hospital in Loveland. A nice lady came by with her Therapy Dog..the name of this special hound escapes me but he was a very gentle and good boy.
Mike & his family, Connie, Nicole and Kristyn with Mom in July, 2009
Kady, Candyce, Mom and daughter Joy back in Hospice.
One of Mom's nurses from Hospice. This nurse owns a yellow Labrador herself.  When mom was at McKee Hospital, I got to know many of the nurses.  These nurses proudly showed me their photos of their own dogs on their cell phones....each one of their dogs are Labrador Retrievers !!

Mom's Celebration Poem I wrote her after I came back to Washington towards the end of August. I stayed in Loveland for a total of 6 weeks, helping Mom move in her new home, helping her out in any way I could. Mom didn't know her cancer had returned until the 3rd week in July, 2009. We all thought her illness and symptoms were due to her year long battle with Discoid Lupus. In reality, her Lupus had been masking stage 4 Lung Cancer and too late for any type of treatment. With in 4 weeks, mom finally got her wish and " Flew to the Moon " as she often referred to her dying.
